“Grief, I’ve learned, is really love. It’s all the love you want to give but cannot give. The more you loved someone, the more you grieve. All of that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes and in that part of your chest that gets empty and hollow feeling. The happiness of love turns to sadness when unspent. Grief is just love with no place to go.”

“Compassion hurts. When you feel connected to everything, you also feel responsible for everything. And you cannot turn away. Your destiny is bound with the destinies of others. You must either learn to carry the Universe or be crushed by it. You must grow strong enough to love the world, yet empty enough to sit down at the same table with its worst horror.”

You have been brave your entire life. It’s not that you wanted to be, but life gave you no other option. For a while it wasn’t the easiest way to maneuver through, but it didn’t matter the way your heart tore, you took your tattered edges and put them together and formed a beautiful mosaic. You don’t like to flaunt it very much, because the time it took to peace yourself together was in and of itself a battle. And not everyone is worthy of seeing the vulnerable edges we fought so hard to keep from bleeding. It takes a special kind of soul to know who you truly are, the way you think, and the way you process life. But that is what makes you so incredibly special to know, after you fight your way through the walls, your soul will not have to protect itself as if it would be harmed.

The bones are shaking and the sound Is like an earthquake for the ground Because all the feelings fight Above the metal from the scythe Her hands are fragile like a shard While pressing the graveyard, The rotten robe comprise the pain Of ending lives over again. She has an older woman face But her eyes are full of grace And after every life she takes She’s always crying for it’s sake.
